With the relaxation season coming up, MarkUp Magazine is looking forward to its future summer releases, and we are looking forward for the amazing user contributions that makes MarkUp Magazine the unique, high-quality publication that it is. If you're interested in participating and collaborating in the next issue of MarkUp Magazine, then you might want to check out the rest of this newsletter, which will hopefully get you up to speed with the latest developments in MarkUp Magazine and the GMking.org network that publishes it.

MarkUp Magazine is still looking for committed, high-quality writers as well as one-off contributions from our dear readers.

MarkUp Magazine is in need of Writers and Reviewers. Go to the MarkUp Magazine website and click on Apply to Staff in order to post a staff application and we will contact you as soon as possible.

New Staff Positions Available

Writer
A writer engages in the production of:

  • Tutorials
  • Editorials
  • Opinion Columns
  • Other similar articles

A writer therefore writes general articles of any sort, technical or community-related.

Journalist

A journalist engages in investigative journalism, updates on important community related issues, obtains interviews, etc. with creators of new game releases, contacts important developers on updates regarding their work, etc. A journalist thus is responsible for the following types of articles

  • Editorials
  • Interviews
  • News items
  • Spotlights

Reviewer

A reviewer tries out games and software, giving them ratings and providing opinion. Reviews include:

  • Game reviews
  • Quick reviews
  • Game spotlight
  • MarDar
  • Exclusive reviews

Note: When it comes to exclusive reviews, it is the responsibility of the reviewer himself to contact creators of new releases for an exclusive version of the game.

Contribute to MarkUp Magazine

You can contribute to MarkUp Magazine in many ways, all of which are deeply appreciated. Other than applying to staff and become part of the decision-making power behind MarkUp Magazine, you can submit contributions by sending us your own articles to staff@gmking.orgm!

You can also help us by providing feedback:

  • The MarkUp Forums (Register) - where you could discuss general MarkUp-related information, view the 'Development Subforum' and give suggestions on current decisions regarding the issue under development, or simply apply to staff or comment on current applications, etc.
  • GMC Topic (Reply) - The Game Maker Community topic is the main source of feedback for MarkUp Magazine. You could post your own general feedback there, or alternatively, you could tune in and comment on the feedback, opinions, suggestions, and criticisms of others.
